Bangkok Accelerates Post-Flood Recovery, Clearing Over 10,000 Tons of Bulky Waste Across 8 Critical Districts

Following the flooding and waterlogging crisis in Bangkok from late September to October 2026, more than 10,000 tons of bulky waste and flood-related waste accumulated, with an average collection rate of approximately 800 tons per day. The waste mainly consisted of mattresses, furniture, electrical appliances, and household items damaged by the flooding.
The affected areas included eight districts of Bangkok, particularly Lat Krabang District, including Rom Klao Housing Community and Khlong Chan Housing Community. Authorities have been mobilizing personnel to collect waste continuously to accelerate the recovery of affected areas after the floodwaters receded, according to a report by Thai PBS.
