Meet FUNNOVATE LAB: How EJEC is Transforming Infrastructure Maintenance with AI, Drones, and Robotics

1. About us

FUNNOVATE LAB is the innovation and R&D division of Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc. (EJEC), established in June 2025 as an independent organization reporting directly to the President.

The name FUNNOVATE combines "Fun" and "Innovate", reflecting our belief that great innovations begin with curiosity and creativity.

We develop practical technologies that advance digital transformation (DX) in infrastructure, while also applying our skills in robotics, AI, 3D technologies, and other advanced digital solutions to a wide range of fields.

A modular boat-type drone that adapts to different site conditions by changing its hull configuration. It supports surface and underwater imaging, as well as 3D mapping, with a single platform.

3D Reconstruction (Gaussian Splatting)

In collaboration with KOO Inc. and KIMOTO Co., Ltd., We create highly detailed 3D models from videos and images captured by our robots and boats using Gaussian Splatting technology. By integrating above- and below-ground environments into a single 3D model, the data supports faster decision-making during emergencies.

3. Our Activities in Thailand
