Hosted a seminar on infrastructure inspection technologies, including Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR), in Thailand

On November 7, 2024, EJEC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and our parent company, Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc. (EJEC), co-hosted a technical seminar in Bangkok, Thailand, aimed at developing technologies and services that use 3D data acquisition to efficiently inspect and maintain structures such as roads and bridges.

At the seminar, Mr. Wiwat Sakunwanich of EJEC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mr. Odera of EJEC gave presentation on GMS3 (Ground Penetrating Radar Mobile Mapping System 3D), a high-precision subsurface cavity investigation technology developed by Canaan Georesearch Ltd. that combines ground-penetrating radar and terrestrial cameras, as well as the results of a demonstration test run in Thailand using this technology. They also introduced inspection technologies and services for infrastructure and bridges using aerial, surface, and underwater drones, including those developed in-house.

On the day, greetings were given by guests from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand and King Mongkut's University (KMUTT). Approximately 90 people attended the event, including representatives from the Department of Highways (DOH) of Ministry of Transport of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), Metropolitan Electricity Authority of Thailand (MEA), Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), as well as the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and local consulting companies, demonstrating growing interest in infrastructure inspection and maintenance in Thailand.

We will actively promote the expansion of its infrastructure maintenance business overseas, including the provision of inspection and maintenance management technologies and services related to the aging social infrastructure of Thailand and other Asian countries.
